Hasselblad XPAN

In July 1998 Hasselblad unveiled the XPAN panoramic 35mm camera.

Unlike the Horizon 202 and the Noblex 135 the XPAN does not feature a swing-lens but is instead a rangefinder camera, similar in form to a Leica or Contax rangefinder. The XPAN has interchangeable bayonet lenses and will initially be supplied with a 45mm lens but a 90mm lens is also planned for the near future and apparently other lenses will become available.

The XPAN promises to be a highly versatile camera since it is dual format: in full-frame mode it produces a 24x65mm image (7mm wider than the Horizon and only 1mm narrower than the Noblex) and in half-frame mode it produces a regular 24x36mm image like any other 35mm camera.
